- Designed for patients who are difficult sticks requiring intravenous access for intermittent or short-term infusion therapy, usually less than six days.

Infusion Nurse
Per diem positions available
This position requires hanging the first dose of antibiotics in the patient's home after hospital discharge with the goal of providing thorough patient education so that the patient and/or family members feel comfortable enough to continue the prescribed antibiotic regimen on their own in the home setting safely. The infusion nurse may also be responsible for first-dose infusions of specialty biotherapy medications in the office setting. Qualified nurses should possess basic knowledge of infusion related services, including but not limited to, central line dressing changes, blood work and peripheral intravenous (PIV) catheter insertions, care and maintenance.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of the nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of Practice and Professional Performance and Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice. Independent judgement is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) License issued by the State of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire
- Must have a minimum of four years of acute nursing experience
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
Vascular Access Nurse
Per diem positions available
The Vascular Access Nurse must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in the insertion, care and maintenance of patients requiring intravenous (IV) access. The ideal nursing candidate will be able to demonstrate competency in inserting vascular access devices such as peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines, midlines (ML) and ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous (PIV) catheters in a variety of settings. Must be able to respond and communicate effectively with patients, families and physicians and possess strong critical thinking skills. The Vascular Access Nurse will also be responsible for any and all catheter related services, including but not limited to, providing education to patients and families regarding line care and maintenance, vascular access device dressing changes, troubleshooting, repositioning, declotting and monitoring quality metrics related to these devices.

- Preferred: VA-BC or CRNI credentials
